The new year starts with an old tune, Sister Ola Mae Terrell's "God's Little Birds" from 1953. Sister Terrell had one recording session for Columbia, which resulted in three records. In 1955 she had a record released on the Playboy label and these four records seem to be all there is. How odd if you think of Mahalia Jackson, who started recording for Columbia in 1954 and Sister Rosetta Tharpe, who Sister O.M. Terrell had more in common with. She could have been a big name too...
